.

We are only going to be in Temecula for a couple days and wondered how to see the most in a short time. We are staying the the Embassy Suites and would love to find good restaurants nearby where we may even cab to dinner.

As far as wineries we love reds.. Zinfindel is a fav, and for dinner steak or really a place locals love would be great. Any ideas would be welcome and thank you in advance for the tips. You are within walking distance of chain restaurants and independent ethnic eateries Asian, Italian, Mexican at the Tower Plaza and Towne Center shopping areas.

I am not, and have never been head over heels in love with any eateries in this valley that are unique, distinct and likely to deliver truly memorable dining experiences one may encounter in other wine regions. Each would be considered pricey by locals in our chain-obsessed and saturated town. My recommendation is to look at online review sites to read reactions from the general public and formulate your own opinion.

You're likely to see the most "locals" at the Gambling Cowboy. Zinfandel is a varietal that is plentiful at Temecula wineries. Which is the best? Ahh, another tough, loaded question you will likely hear opinions from other responders about. Close to the Embassy Suites? Not all, but many of these have Zin's on their tasting menu.

Regarding the 4th of July, see posts from a previous inquiry to yours on this forum for area 4th activities. Hello - welcome to the Temecula Forum. Temeculawinetourguy has hit the nail on the head. There's really nothing in Temecula that you can't find elsewhere. Even the wineries that have restaurants have so so food.

Within walking distance from the Embassy Suites you'll find a Marie Calendars, Chili's, Stuart Andersons, Claim Jumper, Pat and Oscars, Daphne's, a couple of pizza joints and a place called Juan Pollo which is probably the most unique out of everything in the immediate area. Their place is a hole in the wall its hidden on the back side of Town Center Plaza down from Home Goods on your way to Target, but the chicken is fantastic!

I would suggest taking it to go and go back over to the duck pond for a picnic. The food is good, but the ambiance is better than you'll find anywhere in Temecula.

As to 4th of July celebrations, see my previous post with hints and tips RE the crowds at the sports park. The sports park is about 2. There's also a parade. Do be aware that it will be very busy this week and very hot. So bring water and a lot of patience with you as you explore our city. Most wine countries Napa , Sonoma , Paso Robles , Santa Barbara do not allow restaurants at wineries except with rare exception.

In Temecula, more than a fourth of the wineries have restaurants. The cuisine at most is very good, and the atmosphere ranges from very nice to awesome when vines are in full leaf. The owner is a big-personality bona fide Italian, heavy accent and all, and the menu is correspondingly genuine italian. Plus it's a really fun place. I have never had a bad time or bad meal there, and they would earn a five-star rating from me for every one of the dozens of times I've dined there. It is being renovated and will open later in the summer as Farmhouse Kitchen, with a completely re-worked vibe, menu, and layout.

It will have more of a field-to-fork concept and some cool do-it-yourself elements like a cocktail kit for two for example, you mix your own Mojito with provided ingredients including real mint leaves freshly plucked from their cocktail garden. Sounds quirky and fun. If you want finer dining, there are just a few choices like Gambling Cowboy and Baily's. But if you want fun and unique, there are loads of options.

I like Public House for their unusual and delicious cuisine, The Bank for their bustling outside bar, Palumbo's for their dependably delicious Italian fare, the Swing Inn Cafe for their classic diner breakfasts, Texas Lil's for messy ribs and big portions served by sexy cowgirls, Soro's Mediterranean fare try "Soro's Favorite Shish Kabob" , Rosa's for good inexpensive Mexican served quick, and many other diverse offerings, many of which I've yet to visit.

Date of visit: September Which is the best? Dine on new Nordic cuisine at buzzy restaurants like Dill and Grill Market. Nashville is one of the hottest cities for girlfriends' getaway — in fact, it's one of the country's leading destinations for bachelorette article source. Less than an hour's drive from downtown Portland is the Willamette Valley, where you and your girl squad can spend the day sipping pinot noirs in scenic wineries like Erath Winery and Sokol Blosser.
